Natural Hair & Exercise

There is no reason for curly girls to struggle with staying fit and staying fab at the same time.

When your exercise and perspire there is no way around having to rinse your scalp but it doesn't have to ruin your hair regimen and styles.

As previously tipped, spraying hair often is awesome for the hair. Water wakes up hair and breaks hydrogen bonds allowing hair to easily be manipulated. Any oils, conditioners or other styling products applied to hair while wet are more able to set in.

Combining a dime size amount of shampoo to 8 oz spray water bottle can be a refreshing step in your hair regimen after working out to keep scalp clean. Rinse with all water spray bottle. Depending on style rinsing hair may ruin the look. There are essential oils like tea tree and astringents like sea breeze that can be used instead of spray water bottles to refresh.

Protective styles like Bantu knots, cornrows, two stand twists and extensions are able to be worn while staying fit and keeping scalp clean with little or no style change.

Straight looks for naturals are the hardest to maintain when exercising. Wrapping or pinning hair while working out and applying discrete amounts of cleansing oils or astringents to scalp can help to preserve straight looks.

Always allowing hair to air or heat dry completely before putting on bonnet or silk scarf is always recommended.
