It's Been Long Enough

I have been extremely busy with relocating to another city in GA and downsizing to a townhouse. I have started a new full time job teaching and all of my children have started new schools.

My twin daughters turned 9 Labor Day  weekend and we celebrated with a spa theme party, sleepover and White Water. Everyone had a great time. It was a good way to say goodbye to Summer and hello to Fall.

Although I am adjusting well with all of the changes, lately I have been slightly overwhelmed.

Thoughts about career advancement, financial stability, marriage, parenting and healthy friendships have consumed my mental. Now is the best time to reach out and empower myself on the mission of Powerful Woman's Potential.

Atlanta Natural Beauty Symposium

Last Saturday July 21st at Cobb Galleria in Atlanta, GA a group of naturals gathered together for the 8th stop of The 2013 Evolution Tour.

The event was sponsored by Design Essentials, Deeply Rooted, Dreads n Beads and Image of Perfection.

Free classes and hair demonstrations were offered with concentration on the philosophy of natural hair types and textures, natural hair ethics, basics of braiding and many more teachings with healthy hair focus.

Vendors blessed the stage giving insight on their business and brand. I briefly stepped up on behalf of The Jewelry Nook to promote the one of a kind statement pieces hand crafted by designer Tanya Bowers.

I was able to network and shop with other sisters and brothers stopping by their table, looking at their creations and products on display.

Overall the event was a beautiful meeting place for a group of entrepreneurs committed to their business. The classes and live demos gave the people an opportunity to learn more about healthy hair and healthy lifestyles.

I look forward to seeing what the Natural Beauty Symposium has to offer next year!

8 Qualities Of A Highly Successful Beautiful Woman

Reposted By Staff Blogger from Healthy Black Woman

Here are 8 suggestive ways to achieve the success that you are looking for.

1. Harmony – When you have a balance between what you think, what you say, and what you do, you will achieve a state of harmony.

2. Balance – This is the result of harmony because there is no disconnect between what you are thinking, what you are saying, and what you are doing.

3. Courage – Everyone needs a little courage now and then. Perhaps it is the courage to speak up about an idea at work that could lead to you being promoted. Sometimes it isn’t just about the action at all but rather how you are thinking or feeling at the moment.

4. Generosity – Give freely and as often as you can. When you give to others with no strings attached and no expectations, you can achieve the harmony and balance mentioned above.

5. Happiness – When we are happy we are more apt to land in a better place. Think happy thoughts.

6. Wisdom – Knowing how to make the right decisions at the right time is very important when you are trying to become successful. Make sure you think about your choices thoroughly before deciding.

7. Cleanliness – A cluttered and messy life will get you nowhere. Organize, not only your home and workspace, but your thoughts as well.

8. Beauty – It is all in the eye of the beholder. When you think about yourself as being beautiful your confidence is naturally boosted.

Ladies Night In 2012-Recap

Ladies Night In 2012 was a success! The guests had smiles on their faces, drinks in their cups and music moving their bodies. Complimentary facials and mini makeovers were offered as ladies mingled, shopped and ate food.

Although the overall night was successful there were a few hiccups along the way but I was able to bounce back from them. I met new people to work with and introduced old friends with new contacts.

I learned in planning the first of many semi annual Ladies Night In events that success isn't perfection but attitude is everything and will naturally bring what is needed and dismiss what isn't.

I am looking forward to establishing tradition with the next Ladies Night In coming up in June 2013!
